Length of stay: 5 nights
Month: February 2019
For my first time in Sapporo I decided on Tokyu Stay Sapporo Odori as home base – recently opened in November 2018. On past trips, I have wanted to stay at this brand hotel, but decided on others due to pricing. Tokyu Stay is an “extended” type hotel with in-room laundry and kitchenette which is always a plus at any hotel in Japan and part of my hotel amenity requirements.
+ very nice and helpful staff
+ new hotel with modern decor
+ awesome lobby restroom 😊
+ relaxing lobby area
+ great breakfast buffet, lots of variety
+ big bed (double room)
+ room doors open outward (which is great for leaving luggage by the door)
+ microwave, laundry, cooking plate, refrigerator inside room
+ very close to Odori station and park
+ many shops and restaurants nearby above and below ground (Pole Town, Aurora Town, Mistukoshi, Parco, Tanukikoji, etc)
+ Sapporo city tram only 1 block away
– buffet little on pricey side 1500¥
– nothing else to complain about
The easiest and less stressful way from New Chitose Airport is to take either the Chuo Bus or Hokuto Kotsu Bus to Odori Park then walk west about 10 minutes to the hotel.
If you need a little more challenge and stress, take the JR line from New Chitose Airport to Sapporo Station then transfer to the Namboku Line to Odori Station and take one of the west exits to the street level.
